Hello Again!

No, I'm not back.

But I wanted to quickly say I have a new doll blog over on Wordpress. Click here to check it out and follow if you wish. :)

Hey guys!

So yeah, I know, it's been three months since I've last posted on here. And I don't really have an excuse. As you can see I've plenty of time for my other blogs, social media and writing. I'm just not motivated anymore. It's as simple as that.

I love my dolls, but I think I'm pretty much done with them as far as blogging about them or taking photoshoots. Except for the occasional photostory, I probably won't be using/posting on this blog anymore. :(

It was my very first Blogger blog, and it's really hard for me to leave, but I think I already have, in a way. I've withdrawn myself, I'm not replying to comments or moderating the chatbox (which may or may not be leaving, by the way, nobody seems to be using it except for leaving spam) - or posting, which is the most important thing!

But before I go, I'd like to say thank you to the couple of readers who have stuck with me ever since I started my blog! My posts were absolutely horrible, but you followed me anyway. You left nice comments and didn't just vanish after about a year, you kept reading and commenting. You know who you are, and you don't know how much joy you brought to my 8-year-old self. ;)

I'd also like to kind of sort out my feelings about the AG blogging world. I've been thinking this for a long time and it's kind of hard to put it down on "paper", and before I say this, I'm not trying to offend anyone or talk about anybody in particular. It's just how I feel about the AG blogging community in general right now, and this is about no specific person or people.

I haven't really enjoyed blogging about dolls anymore. I think, people have been changing themselves, and writing posts like "I've been hiding my true self, I really love all of this and that and I'm super quirky and weird and an outsider. I don't actually like dolls even I've just been trying to fit in with all these other people so this is my true self yo" When actually, they were their normal selves all the time and are actually trying to fit in now by writing that post and from then on acting different than they normally would in real life or around their friends.

Changing yourself and lying about who you really are just to fit in is...I don't know, it just annoys me. And I think that's part of the reason I haven't been very enthusiastic about posting. It just isn't like it used to be. In other blogging communities from this one people don't try to change themselves just to fit in. On their blogs they are themselves and they don't pretend to like something they don't really like just because it's "cool" or anything like that.

I'm not trying to say I don't like it when people have a specific type of personality. The people in the AG community are my friends, I love them. It's just 2% of the people on here are just trying to fit in and changing themselves.

I'm not saying this is everyone in the blogging world or anything, and again I'm not talking about any specific people, so please don't be offended when reading this!

I just thought I should finally say this, I've been generally feeling and thinking this for about 8 months now and it's nice to just get it out there.

Thank ya'll for following me, it's been such an AMAZING experience these past three years (can you believe that it's been THREE years since I started this blog?!!?!? AHHHH!!) and I love every one of my followers!! It's so cool to see how I've developed from a little girl who used too many exclamation points to a somewhat experienced blogger who actually uses commas! xD

And I am TOTALLY NOT leaving the online world altogether. I've had my everything-but-dolls-blog, Through the Wardrobe, for a year now and I still post on it regularly! It will become my main project, and you can head on over there and give me a follow if you want to keep up with me and what I'm doing. ;) Just click HERE.

Thanks for reading, you guys, and being there! <3

My Opinions on Lea Clark (GOTY 2016)

Hey guys!

So, firstly, I want to apologize for a picture-less post. My computer is being really weird and won't let me save or upload pictures. So I can't include pictures of Lea's collection in my opinions. But that's okay because you probably already know what everything looks like anyway. ;) I'll try to get it fixed by the next post!

Lea Clark  - I'm sorry to say I'm not a huge fan of the doll herself. I don't like her hair or her outfit that much.

Lea's Accessories - This is a cute set! I love the little camera and the NatGeo magazine! I probably won't get it, but I do like it.

Margay Cat - Awwwwwww!! It's soooo CUTE! I love the animals in Lea's collection, they are adorable! I might be getting this cat.

Lea's Rainforest House - I LOVE this house. I think it's adorable! I love the little loft bed, the outdoor shower, and the grill. Definitely not getting it, (I wouldn't use it and it's pricey, although I'm glad to see they lowered it from $500.00), but I like it. :)

Lea's Rainforest Dreams Pajamas for Dolls - Uhhhhhh...okay....they certainly are interesting!

Three-Toed Sloth - I CAN'T. SO CUTE!!! I love this sloth!!

Lea's Rainforest Hike Outfit - I like the boots and the sports watch. I'm not a fan of the shirt or the pants, though.

Lea's Rainforest Hike Accessories - That hydration backpack...this just brought back memories of me in kindergarten. Hydration backpacks were all the rage but I didn't have one. xD Anyway, I think it's really cool! All the little accessories are cute. I love the binoculars.

Lea's Fruit Stand -  Awww! It looks like a little mini supermarket! This is adorable!

Lea's Mix and Match Swim Set - I actually like these swimsuits.

Lea's Beach Accessories - Awww, this is cute! I love the sea turtles. The snorkeling equipment is nice, too.

Lea's Ocean Kayak Set - Okay, now this is cool. I love it! Everything about it is awesome.

Sea Turtle - These ANIMALS! They are all so CUTE!

Lea's Bahia Outfit For Dolls - Wow, this is so cool! I think this is the first of Lea's outfits I actually like. I really love the colors they used for the shirt, and it really looks like it was made for Lea (which it was xD)...

Anyway, those are my opinions on Lea's collection. Sorry If I kind of seemed like a brat, as I don't really like many of her things. But those are just my opinions. If you want/have Lea, that's great! I'm happy for you. She's just not my favorite doll. :)

What do you think of Lea's collection?

I'm Back + Lea Clark

Hey guys!

I'm back from a blogging hiatus I took. More on my other blog. Again, I'll try to post at least once a week.

Anyway, my opinion on Lea Clark, the brand-new GOTY 2016. I'm sad to admit, when I first saw the stock photo of her online, she wasn't my favorite doll. The highlights stood out and made her look all blonde. She didn't really appeal to me.

But now that I'm seeing lots of pictures of the blessed people who got Lea in my feed, I like her a lot more! She looks much better in those pictures then she does in the stock photo. :)

I'll try to do a longer post with opinions on all of Lea's stuff tomorrow, since this isn't really a post. There won't be pictures from American Girl's website, picture is being annoying and won't let me save any photos. I'm sorry. :(

Thanks for reading!

My interest in American Girl Dolls is fading, I'm sorry to say.

My interests have changed over the past 2 (almost three) years. When my friend announces she got a new doll I don't break into a grin and go "Wow!" and then launch into a questioning about what she looks like and who she is and where she got her and for how much. I have to force myself to even get up and take a photoshoot of one of them, and when I do there is no pleasure in it. I don't get happy scrolling through the new releases AG comes out with or sharing my opinions.

Truth is, this blog feels like a burden to me now. I get sad thinking about it. Thinking of how excited I was to start a blog, how many friends I've made through it, and now it just feels like WORK. My blog shouldn't feel like that to me - I should like to blog, like what I'm blogging about.

I'm sad about this. I'm sad that I don't really like AG dolls anymore. But I don't. They'll always hold a special place in my heart. But I really think I'm done with them, except for the occasional photostory, when I'm feeling motivated.

However, I love other dolls now. I like fashion/Disney dolls. Old vintage dolls. I'm glad I changed my blog name, because now I'm not limited. I'm not leaving - I can't leave. I really can't bring myself to do it. But you might be seeing less of AG dolls and a little more of fashion dolls or vintage dolls.

Samantha's Special Talent

Hey guys!

A few months ago, I realized that I had an autographed copy of "Samantha's Special Talent". Sarah Masters Buckey signed it:

It was a gift from someone I got in preschool, and I had no idea it was autographed by Sarah Masters Buckey until I started to re-organize my bookshelves. Isn't that cool?!

The Sixties

Hey guys!

THIS IS SORT OF relevant to the topic of this blog, AG dolls. I have just learned that the new BeForever doll for 2016 will be african-american and will also be from the sixties! Two thumbs up!

While the sixties is not my favorite time period, it has grown on me since my obsession with vintage clothing started.

The 60's was all about bright and cheerful colors.
60's style:

This kind of fashion was around the early 60's.

About mid-sixties, probably.

Although, this is all womens/teens fashion, so she probably won't have dresses like this. I can't wait to see what they come out with for the next HC! AG has all of my favorite time periods now; 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. I just want a 20's girl and I will be happy!
